The Bucerius Heidsieck Endowment Bolstered by Additional $19,000 Gift

Vera Wheeler, the executor of Arnold Heidsieck’s estate, granted an additional $19,000 to the Arnold Heidsieck Scholarship Endowment, which is part of the Bucerius Global Legacy Fund. The Heidsieck Scholarship invites applications from BA students in the humanities who are currently enrolled at a German university and have a focus on German culture, language, history, music, or art in their studies. The student grants are designed to support travel and living expenses during a semester or year abroad in the United States.
According to Ms. Wheeler, she chose to grant the funds to Bucerius because “…the professional assistance I received from the American Friends of Bucerius was wonderful. I am convinced that I made the right decision for my friend’s wishes.” We are thrilled and grateful for the additional support, which will enable Bucerius and the ZEIT-Stiftung to support more students in this field. For German students interested in applying next year, please check this website in January/February 2017 for the new application announcement
The 2016-2017 Heidsieck Scholars will be announced soon, and we look forward to welcoming a new group of students to study in the United States in the Fall.
