Creating and supporting networks of leaders is one of the most important aspects of the work of the Bucerius family of institutions – including American Friends of Bucerius, which is responsible for supporting global education opportunities through programs operated between the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, Bucerius Law School, and strong partner institutions in the United States. We seek to accomplish this goal by strengthening the ties between the US and German institutions and securing the financial support necessary to establish and sustain partnerships which educate young leaders, provide professional skill development and foster cooperative initiatives and projects that allow emerging leaders to exchange ideas and build solutions.
Founded in 2013, and continuing to provide funding opportunities for individuals, foundations, and corporations, the Bucerius Global Legacy Fund allows us to secure funds to continue the critical work of ZEIT-Stiftung, Bucerius Law School and other initiatives of the Bucerius family of institutions.
The Bucerius Global Legacy Fund seeks to provide dedicated financial resources toward the following priorities of American Friends of Bucerius:
• Scholarships for students to participate in educational programs offered by ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and Bucerius Law School, including International Exchange programs, the Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance and the Asian Forum on Global Governance; and
• Innovations and capital projects that support and develop programs at Bucerius Law School, such as the IP and Media Law Program and the Energy and Innovation Initiative.
As part of the Bucerius Global Legacy Fund campaign, donors also have an opportunity to create restricted, donor-advised funds, which foster the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius mission to strengthen civil society, promote knowledge, and support arts and culture.
